Foundation Paper piecing

Recently I’ve learned to do foundation paper piecing. I love that it gives me something to do with even little scraps!
 Isn’t this hummingbird pattern gorgeous?

I think so.  It’s from Lillyella.com. This is only my second paper pieced block.  The first was for my own Undercover Maker Mat.  Also from Lillyella.com.

It was a butterfly.  What do you think?

And the second one is for my mom-in-law who has given me many tips and lessons in sewing the past few years.

I just love the peacock fabric!!

And look how cute it is as a thread catcher.
